HAPPY FATHER'S DAY and NOT A FAN OF THE TURKS....

It's Sunday, June 15, better known as Father's Day. The bar is pretty quiet, aside from a large contingent of Turkish fans, here to watch their team play in Euro '08 (more on them later).

With most of the regulars taking today to celebrate Father's Day (and understandably so), I find myself here with a slightly hostile group of Turks. Why hostile? Apparently they came here under the understanding that they would be getting two dollar beers during their match; the reality, however, was that the specials for the day called for four dollar domestic drafts. So I had to deal with a shitload of grumbling Turks, bitching about alleged price-switching and such. I simply told the ringleader of the group to read the blackboard. It's clearly written as plain as day "$4.00 DOMESTIC DRAFTS" . WTF???

*crossing Turkey off my list of places I want to visit......

Happy Father's Day.
