*GRADS, CADS, AND FADS....*

Last night turned out to be a pretty busy Monday night; busier than normal. For starters, we had a lot of graduates out celebrating the end of academia as we know it; from the students of Hofstra Law School, to the rather cute NYU Dental School students, celebrating their last exams, de-stressing seemed to be the order of the day for these soon-to-be grads.

Of course, Dollar Drafts Madness wouldn't live up to it's billing unless you had a couple of cads trying to demonstrate their proficiency w/beer muscles. A couple of close calls with guys trying to prove their machoness in front of the girls. Nothing of significance to report there. And we can't forget the Cad of cads, who's slowly turning into a closet stalker w/ one of my beautiful barmaids; it seems that he keeps calling the bar to ask this girl out, only to be rebuffed at every turn. Now at some point, you gotta look at the writing on the wall and say to yourself, "self, this ain't happenin- let me move on"....apparently he hasn't gotten that memo yet. (Where is your sense of pride, my friend?) I think after the tongue lashing she gave him last night, if he doesn't get it this time, it's time to get an order of protection....

And of course, fads....first it was the Striped Shirt. If you've been reading the blog, you know where I stand on this. Now out of blue and posing a serious challenge to the annoyance level of the Striped Shirt- the ill-fitting, pastel colors of the Lacoste/Izod/Ecko Polo Shirt (with the colllar up, no less). It's bad enough that you are trying to pull back the clock to the 1980's, where Muffy, Dean and Biff ruled the roost. But at least recognize the fact that if you haven't dusted off your Crunch membership card in 8 months, then the ill-fitting shirt isn't going to win you brownie points amongst the JAPPY Murray Hill midgets. And it will definately earn you razzing status here.

So overall, despite various little snafus that served to make the SwanFather's night miserable, Monday night turned out to be pretty good. We got out later than I expected-which of course, would happen when yours truly has to work a double the next day.....whaddya gonna do?

Dollar Draft Madness continues tonite.....
