IT'S OFFICIAL......

The baseball playoffs are set. My team, yes AMERICA'S TEAM (i.e. the Cleveland Indians) came up short and missed out on their first post-season in years. While that saddens me like no other, as far as business goes, we got the teams we needed to keep business booming. If the cards fall just right, we will see another dynamic series between the Yankees and the Red Sox. Only time will tell.

Sunday afternoon turned out to be a B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L one. So beautiful, in fact, it affected us a bit as there were a lot of people out and about, enjoying the day. The bar itself wasn't as crazy as it normally is for Sunday football. That being said, the troopers who sacrificed the beautiful day for an afternoon of drinking and debauchery really had a good time watching the games and joking about.

AFRIKA BAMBATTA got the "Cosmo of the Day" for sharing with us his personal hygine products; most notably his Apricot-flavored shower gel and deoderant. He said it was good for exfoliating his skin. WTF? Looking back on it, he probably should have gotten two of them.

UCONN FAN, NAPOLEON DYNAMITE, MR. LOW-KEY, T-BILL and the NITRO TWINS were some of the early arrivals for the day. They busted my balls because I forgot to bring in the Touchdown Club sign in sheet. It's always something each week. Last week, they busted my balls because the Coors Light Girls pulled a no-show. It's always something with these guys. It'c cool though, because it's always in good fun. Later on, we got a visit from KANSAS CITY SUPERFAN who came in to cheer on her favorite team. I also got a visit from a couple of my former students, which is always nice.

The day itself was pretty straightforward; tons of football all day long, lots of yelling and screaming at the TV's, with a few practical jokes sprinkled in. The hi-jinks continued until about 8pm when the place began to clear out. Later on in the evening, the mood was much mellower, with a few small groups of people hanging out chatting or watching the game or Desperate Housewives.

I was also pleasantly surprised by NAPOLEON, when he stopped by with his very lovely lady friend with a bag of goodies from ASIA DE CUBA... a pretty damn good Calamari Salad. Add to that some type of mixed mashed potatoes that also kicked ass. Talk about perks! It definately hit the spot!

So we have the holy Jewish holidays coming up this week, which means that the foot-traffic around Murray Hill will be much lighter than usual. That being said, the "show must go on". DOLLAR DRAFT MADNESS begins again tonite with $1 Bud/Bud Light mugs from 4pm- Close. I personally have YET another hockey draft; hopefully I'll catch this one on time.

I'll be back with another update later.
