TRANSIT STRIKES and HOLIDAY PARTY SIGHTS....

Last night the bar was teeming with plenty of people fresh off of holiday parties and final exams. Throughout the evening, much of the conversations centered on the impending transit strike. "Will they strike?" was asked by many, followed by various theories for and against. It sparked numerous dialogue and in a weird way, it was refreshing to see people debating something other than fantasy football.

At around 2:30am, the bar started to clear out, sans for a couple of small groups, mostly awaiting word on the strike. When it was finally announced that the strike was on, one group started cheering and dancing. Then reality hit: "How are we getting home?" Let's just say they sobered up pretty quick.

Now that the transit strike is officially on, I was surprised to see the number of people walking to work this morning. They say New Yorkers are a resiliant bunch, and once again, this seems to prove true. As many people that against the strike and griping about being inconvenienced, just as many seem to be in support for the strike and lending a emphathetic ear to the cause. Let's see how long it lasts and how it will affect people and businesses alike.....

I finally downloaded the pictures from the party... and there were a LOT of them. I have a strange habit of whipping out my camera and taking random shots and letting the chips fall where they may. Normally I would include a dialogue describing various photos. In this instance, however, I am going to let the pics speak for themselves. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so let's see if that holds true in this case. PLEASE NOTE: The transformation of certain individuals in various states of drunkeness. It's simply remarkable. Also note certain characters like NAPOLEON DYNAMITE, HIS BOY ELROY, AFRIKA BAMBATTA, and yes, yours truly.

If anyone has any stories or blurbs they want to post to go along with the pics, feel free to do so. Lord knows I sure can't remember half of the crap that went on that night.








































There are plenty of other pics that I could post, but it would take me most of the day to post them, and quite frankly, I have errands to run and a trip to pack for!

This will probably be my last post for the week before I take off to America's favorite destination, CLEVELAND OHIO. So that being said, HAPPY HOLIDAYS to everyone and I will see you when I return! And thanks again to everyone for the kind holiday gifts! You really didn't have to. ;)
