MATT LONG UPDATE
It's been about five days since MATT LONG's tragic accident and I wanted to give you an update. As of today, MATT (known to most of you on the blog as MR. TRIATHLETE) remains in critical condition at New York Weil-Cornell Medical Center. The doctors were able to perform a few surgical procedures over the course of the last few days and while they remain cautiously optimistic, he isn't out of the woods yet. He's gone through a lot of blood and as a result, we are asking for volunteers to donate blood on his behalf (while the blood may not necessarily go to him, it will go towards replacing the blood that was used during transfusions). To donate blood, click on the FDNY website for a list of places to go.
The family has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support by family, friends and colleagues. On their behalf I want to thank you for your continued support at this critical time.
