Here's the scenario: I'm walking back from GUY AND GALLARD and just as I round 34th Street onto 3rd Avenue, there's STEVE HARVEY standing in front of my favorite deli, MANHATTAN CENTER MARKET! Now anyone who knows me knows that I'm all about Cleveland, Ohio, and STEVE HARVEY is also from Cleveland, OH. So as I walk up to the deli, he's standing in front of the place with a contemplative look on his face. I said to him, "WHAT'S UP MR. HARVEY! FELLOW CLEVELANDER HERE- WELCOME TO NEW YORK!" (he just started a radio gig at WBLS radio around the corner). He gave me a "what's up" (or more like a grunt), and then shuffled off up 3rd Avenue with his small entourage. I looked at him and said to myself... "RUDE F*****"... and went on about my business. Trust me folks, all Clevelanders aren't that aloof; we're a friendly breed in general.
