WEEKEND RECAP

Now that the weekend's complete, let's recap, shall we?

SATURDAY: The night started out with a flourish. When I arrived to work the door, THE ITALIAN STALLION was hanging out by the door with THE DON. Apparently a group of people had just entered the bar and were hanging out in the back area. It became apparent that the group as a whole looked as if they had been doing a bit a bar-hopping. While most of them were okay for the most part, one guy definately looked as if he had a few pops too many. When he went to the restroom, he almost took the express route to the men's room, if you know what I mean. While he did his business in the men's room, I hung around to make sure he wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary. As he went back upstairs, it became apparent that he was tipsy, so before I could "suggest" that he leave, he must have gotten the hint as he ended up "escorting" himself out of the bar. A few minutes later, the rest of the group followed his lead and walked out the bar. As they milled about outside, one of the group members decided to "relieve" himself right outside the bar, right in front of THE DON. He moved swiftly right by me and berated the group and told them to disperse. I gotta say, the old guy still has the speed in him, that's for sure!

The night itself was pretty steady, but with a lot of strange groups of people. The crowd content varied wildly; ranging from a group of wedding attendees, to a group of wannabe mafioso, and everything in between. There were these two couples, not connected in any way, making out at the bar. Now COUPLE #1 was some hipster-looking dude and a really hot-looking blonde, going at it hot and heavy. There was more bumpin' and grinding taking place between those two than in a R. KELLY video! The bar would've been fixated on them...... if it wasn't for the other couple.

This couple was sitting next to COUPLE #1, making their own show. However, their show was on the bizzare side. First the guy, a stark opposite of the first one, was a short, nerdy looking Frat Boy; His lady friend was a plain-looking dirty blonde, wearing a plaid schoolgirl skirt and some rather sexy looking knee-high leather boots. She was sitting in the chair while her male friend had her skirt practically hiked up over her head (okay, slight exaggeration, but it was hiked pretty damn high). One minute they are making out with each other hot and heavy- next thing you know, the poor girl starts bawling like a little baby. Very odd. Happy one minute, crying the next. Kinda reminded me of a MADAME X episode. COUPLE #1 hung out for about an hour or so before finally getting a hint and getting a room. COUPLE #2, on the other hand, kept starting and stopping throughout the night, and as a result, her behavior became more and more erratic as the night wore on. She left the bar and came back at least five different times, upset and crying, while he was chilling out at the bar, drinking and oblivious about anything regarding her. Eventually he snuck out of the bar while she was in the restroom and of course, she was not pleased by that. Funny but tragic in a weird way.

The night itself was okay, nothing too exciting (aside from the double gang bang at the bar). Oh and did I mention the outfit that MR. LOW-KEY wore to the bar? He cooked a nice london broil and brought me a plate to sample. A nice gesture, except for the fact that he was wearing his pajamas. An interesting outfit to wear outside, let alone to a bar. He got a lot of "looks", that's for sure. At least the night was KREMLIN-free.

SUNDAY: Feeling exhaused from a long night at the bar, I was not looking forward to the day. With no football to be seen anywhere, and the weather predicted to be wet and messy all day, I knew that the day would be the equivalent of watching paint dry. And I was right. Painful would not properly describe how it went today. Aside from a brief appearance from MR. LOW-KEY (in civilian clothing), ANGRY BLACK, and MR. PLUMBER, the only highlight I had was a brief run in with a homeless guy whom I caught rifling through the bar's garbage. I went outside to confront him on it and we ended up exchanging words and then he left in a huff. About 20 minutes later, the homeless guy came back with two cops. The cops asked me what happened and I told them. They shrugged their shoulders and said that "technically, once the garbage goes out on the sidewalk, then the homeless guy has a right to go through it". I said "Then what happens when they do that and leave the garbage spread out all over the sidewalk? Are they going to pay the fine for the ticket that I'LL RECEIVE?" The cop said that he would make sure to explain to the guy to clean up after himself and re-tie the bags. WTF??? I've heard it all now. F***** ridiculous.

Oh, and remember the girl from COUPLE #2? Apparently she left her purse at the bar when she finally left. She called the bar to see if it was still there and when I told her yes, she said she would come by to pick it up. HOURS later, she finally arrives to pick up her purse, looking like the woman who did the walk of shame. She looked sheepishly at me and thanked me for holding her purse. So that's it for a long, long weekend! Hey, I guess you gotta take the good with the bad.

Wednesday- 1ST ANNIVERSARY BLOG PARTY Celebrate the 1st Anniversary of the Blog with yours truly this Wednesday @ 7pm! $3 Coors Light, Blue Moon Belgian Ale, Molson Canadian and Molson XXX and mugs of margaritas ALL NIGHT LONG! Let's make sure we have a blogworthy time! I expect to see EVERYONE there!

Thursday- "Lite Nite Thursdays"! $4 all light beers (bottles and drafts)!

Friday- Happy Hour- $3 Domestic Drafts/ $5 Cosmos, Appletinis and Margaritas (5pm-9pm)

Saturday- "Kick the Keg" Saturdays ($2 mugs, all beers on tap UNTIL THE KEG KICKS), 12pm-8pm

And now we are the only bar in the neighborhood to feature the NHL CENTER ICE package! So if you are a RANGERS fan, or a RED WINGS, MAPLE LEAFS, BLACKHAWKS, SENATORS or AVALANCHE fan, you can catch your games here! And every Wednesday is MOLSON HOCKEY NIGHT with great drink specials all night long! So make sure to get your hockey fix at THIRD and LONG!
