PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD…

Hey everybody,

Matt will be 7 weeks in tomorrow and is healing along fairly well and says a tired thanks and hello to all of the concerned friends and acquaintances. It seems like the next big move which will be forthcoming in the near future is out of the ICU and into an inpatient rehab facility for an undefined time. There is NO exact time frame to that move at this point and NO real time frame for the length of time of that in-patient rehab as well, but both are pretty good mysteries to be discussing at this point.

He is still eating often with the goal being feeding his engines for strength. He is still doing daily arm & leg workouts with the physical therapist and is still dealing with some serious pain, but he is fighting through it. Access to him is still very controlled and may be even stricter at the beginning of the next step, which may mean that the gatherings and meals up in the 8th floor waiting room, may sadly have come to an end. I will keep everyone updated on both of those issues within the next week or so. And also sadly, no, he did not hit any of his DAMN super bowl boxes, which would have been nice. You probably would have heard his whoop! across the city if he had. (You also can probably tell that I too did not hit any super bowl boxes so I may sound a bit sour.)

Back to Matt; I have attached an email from MJ Armstrong's which has an attachment of its own (flyer), regarding this Saturday's blood drive in Matt's honor. For those who got shut out of one of the other very successful drives or just could not make one of them, please come on out for the event. This one will have many more stations so waiting should be at a minimum. They actually will be setting up some stations in the lower floor of MJ's as well as having the BloodMobile. All of the pertinent info again is in the attached email. Please contact MJ's for this drive as I do not have the sign up sheets. Also send this out to all in your address book if you can.

Also, and just as importantly, we will be putting together a documentary of sorts for Matt on Saturday during the blood drive, with a videographer filming the event and interviewing friends from 3PM and on, so people can say something nice to Matt. The employees of Turtle Bay will be giving him a big shout out around 2PM out front of TB too. So, any and all are invited and implored to show up with friends and family to Armstrong's to get your mug on camera and flow a bit-o-wit to him.

If you are not there you better have an out of state address, a wedding invitation, or a plane ticket receipt, to support your absence, because if you know him he is going to be wondering where the heck you were...yeah you! Just playing with ya, but it should be a really uplifting montage/documentary when complete for him, covering a lot of other destinations and people that he has walked through this life with. I hope to see you Saturday and keep the good karma rolling along. It is unstoppable, as is Matt.

Terry B
