FISH OR CUT BAIT, I ALWAYS SAY....
Last night was one of those interesting nights where I wished I had my camera with me. There were so many moments that deserved to be "enshrined" with a photo that simply talking about them would be an injustice. For example:
*The British Guy who was chillin' at the bar by himself. He had a full pint of beer and was literally sleeping while standing up. Nary a drop of beer spilled from his glass. Too bad the chatty brunette who was talking his ear off didn't take two seconds to notice. This went on for at least 15 minutes (and believe me, I was keeping count), until he suddenly woke up, looked at her and walked away while she was in mid-sentence. She then casually looked around to see if anyone else had noticed what transpired, fixed her hair a bit, and then disappeared in the crowd. Priceless.
*Then there's the group of Columbians, hanging out by the window at one of tables. Two guys and a girl. They ended up meeting another small group of people. Conversations take place, drinks are flowing. One of the Columbian guys starts chattin' it up with a female from the second group. He then takes her phone number, right in front of the Columbian girl. Next thing you know, the Columbian girl snatches the cell phone from the guy, whips it to the floor (where the phone shatters into a few choice pieces), and storms out the door. Columbian guy goes running after her and catches up to her by DAGOSTINOS across the street. She starts screaming at him, he's begging her to stop; she hauls off and smacks him across the face, TWICE! He's on his knees begging her to stay. Five minutes later, they come back to the bar, like nothing happened. Yet again, priceless.
*While we are on the subject of relationships and such, there's the guy I know; a regular and a good guy. Recently involved in a serious relationship. Something happens at the bar between them (what happened exactly, still unclear). Next thing we know, girl leaves abruptly. Guy is clearly upset. Night goes on, he gets drunk, laments on the relationship and the situation. Starts talking to anyone that would listen about what happened. Sad sight indeed. Friends are there to cheer him up but the guy won't let the situation go. Now I feel for anyone that is in a situation like that but I gotta speak up on this: FISH OR CUT BAIT! This seems to be happening on a regular basis and that ain't good. If you are going to be in a situation where you and your significant other are going to bring each other drama and angst everytime you are out with your friends, then you may want to think about reviewing your situation, ya know? It's not healthy for ether one of you and it makes for an awkward, uncomfortable situation for everyone else. I can understand wanting to make a go of a relationship, but at some point you gotta open your eyes and be honest with yourself. Did I mention that this ain't healthy? There, I said it. Consider it tough love. NUFF SAID on that.
*AMERICAN PSYCHO made his debut behind the bar and for the most part, he handled himself pretty well. It took him a bit to get used to where everything was and to adjust to the pace of the bar, but I have to say I was fairly impressed with his work. He handled the catcalls and antics of his friends who were not only there to support him, but to make his life miserable in the process. He shared with me that he had a newfound respect for me after enduring the rantings of SILENT BOB and DIRTY SANCHEZ for what felt like an eternity. Good job AP!
*There were quite a few women in the bar from Florida last night. This was fairly evident by the rich colored tans and the less-than-adequate winter gear they were wearing. Lots of cleavage made the boys pretty happy, that much is true.
*Was it me or did anyone catch the lesbian makeout session in the Champagne Room? God I love that!
*MS. KREMLIN made an appearance late night; Of course she tried to get a free drink from the bartenders by dropping my name. Luckily the bartenders know the drill by now. Cash up front. No freebies for this one. She snagged me and started to tell me about her latest saga, at which point I cut her short and pretended that there was a situation outside that needed tending to. I learned my lesson the last time I got sucked into a conversation with her. My ears still hurt from that one.
Overall, it was a pretty good night. Happy hour was strong and the energy of the crowd carried over for most of the evening. I'm sure there are other things I left out (I usually do). So if you have anything you want to fill in that I may have missed, hit the Comment box.
I'm off to take care of some SWANFATHER stuff and perhaps help another lady in need (there seems to be a lot of cats stuck in trees these days).... I'm behind the stick tomorrow, so stop by and keep me company. If you have any board games or Uno cards, bring 'em with you, and we'll make the best of a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Oh and by the way, I just ran into MADAME X. She just bought some new furry boots and insisted that I look at them. Interesting. She seems to be pretty proud of her new purchase. You go girl. Make sure you compliment her on them next time you see her. Bless her heart.
