According to the NY Post, there seems to be an increase in stolen purses (or "bag grabs") in bars and restaurants in the Murray Hill/ Lenox Hill sections of Manhattan. In the past six weeks, there have been 54 reports of purses being snatched out of area bars and restaurants, double the number of thefts during the same time last year. Cops seem to think there's a band of thieves working the strip, hitting the bars/restaurants during the peak times of the evening.
That being said, I promise that our staff will be more diligent to protect our customers by keeping a sharp eye out for strange behavior and unusual-looking individuals. We ask that you be aware of your surroundings and where you keep your personal belongings, especially when you go to the restrooms or take a cigarette break. While Murray Hill is a pretty safe neighborhood, it isn't perfect. Use common sense and you should be okay.
