Follow the daily interactions of an affable bar manager of pretty cool and not-so-typical watering hole in NYC, in a not-so-typical neighborhood, Murray Hill. There may be some blurbs overheard at the bar, stimulating observations and random thoughts on random things. So be careful, you never know what might end up here....Enjoy and welcome to my world!

GOBBLE, GOBBLE....
Tuesday night was pretty busy; so busy in fact that it kinda caught me off guard. I'd forgotten how busy the Tuesday before the big migration home for Thanksgiving can be. Lots of college kids home for the break (which usually translates into lots of underaged types trying to sneak in); Many white-collar types getting together with their colleagues for one last fling before going their separate ways for the long weekend. Add to that mix the usual invasion of tourists (both domestic and international) in town for the MACY'S THANKSGIVING PARADE and all of the shopping that goes along with it. We also had a large contingent of supporters from BUTLER UNIVERSITY, in town to catch their basketball team at the Pre-Season N.I.T. finals at Madison Square Garden (along with NORTH CAROLINA, GONZAGA and TENNESSEE). Everything went without a hitch- no problems at all and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
H.B.E. hard at work, slinging mugs!
That being said, while it was busy, it didn't seem to have that same "pop" that comes with such a night. Usually everyone is bustling with good times, jokes and laughter; This time around, I didn't quite get that sense. Like I said before, the bar was busy, but the vibe was a bit more subdued for some reason. Or maybe it was me, who knows for sure. All I know is that it didn't feel the same as usual. *blah* . One good thing: Lots of hot chicks!
Tonite (for those of you who are still around), is our Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Day Bash, geared to kick-start your holiday weekend! On tap will be $4.00 Domestic Drafts, Mixed Well Drinks, House Wine, and shots of Jagermeister as well as Wild Turkey/cranberry shots! So don't forget to stop by after work and start your weekend right!
If I don't see you tonight, have a very happy Thanksgiving Day! Remember that the day is more than just great food and football; that it's to celebrate family and friends and to be thankful for all the good things in your lives.
We're closed on Thursday and will re-open on Friday. I'll also give you a re-cap on my Thanksgiving and my brush with.... TURDUCKEN!
