TRADER JOE'S... The mini-review
After hearing such glowing reviews about this highly touted "neighborhood store", I finally made my way down to Union Square (yes, I left Murray Hill) to check it out. Well, I actually had other places to hit, but figured it's in the area so I may as well check it out.
Before arriving at TRADER JOE'S, I was warned about the massive crowds, the long, winding lines and people fighting in the aisles over precious commodities. When I arrived, however, I didn't find that to be the case (for the most part). First of all, the store was much smaller than I'd anticipated. For all the hype this place had received, I expected to see miles of aisles of stuff. Maybe it's the Manhattan factor, where space is such a premium. But I can say that while the store itself was pretty compact, it was well stocked with fresh items. Some things were more expensive than you would find in a conventional supermarket; yet others were actually cheaper. I guess it all depends on your shopping habits.
The store also carries a lot of freshly-made pre-packaged mini meals, sandwiches, dips and such; which is cool if you are a single person who don't like to or don't have the time to cook.
One major positive, if you are a single person shopping, is the copious amounts of eye candy! Drop-dead gorgeous women strolling the aisles left and right. Whoa! You almost don't mind waiting in line for a long period of time.
Overall, while I probably won't break my neck to rush down there for a carton of milk, it's not a bad place to check out if you were in the neighborhood, crowds withstanding. On a scale of 1-5 SWANS, I give it a 3.
Speaking of women (gorgeous and otherwise), don't forget tonight is LADIES NIGHT, with $2.00 Mixed Well Drinks for the ladies and $4.00 Amstel Light, Coors Light and Blue Moon Ale for everyone! Also, Bowl Mania continues with FLORIDA STATE vs UCLA at 8pm. Something for everyone!
More updates to come!

You get this new camera and you don't take pictures of these hot women? Shame on you!
I started to, but I didn't want to be looked at as a tourist or worse off, a perv.
