WHO SAYS THIS AIN'T GLOBAL WARMING?
With NYC going through its first December without a lick of snow in like, 100 years and this weekend's weather forecast calling for temps in the 70's, this to me, is the surest sign yet that we are in the midst of some serious global warming. Don't get me wrong, the less time I have to worry about shoveling snow, the better; however, this is just plain weird. January 5th and we're expecting 60-70 degree weather???? Only one thing I can say about this: Y'all better start going to church or something because Armageddon must be coming.
Last night was another slow night in what has turned out to be a slow week of "holiday hangovers". However, there were glimpses of life on the Avenue as you could see various pockets of small groups strolling about, which is a good sign. I suspect with all of the football action on tap this weekend, coupled with the excellent weather forecast, the bars on 3rd Avenue will be back to normal.
(Speaking of football action, we will have a halftime buffet on tap for Sunday's games, so if you plan on checking out the NY teams at Third and Long, bring an appetite; should be a good time)
BLIND ITEM: So, one of the patrons of the bar came in yesterday and they were down in the dumps; It seems that this person just lost their job- which is bad enough on the surface. But how they lost their job.... well, it more or less relates to the "notorious reputation" that they have at the bar. Interesting thing in all of this is that the person with the "notorious reputation" still doesn't seem to get why they lost their job in the first place. All I can say is that it sucks to lose a job in the first place, but as they say in the business, "you reap what you sow". I hope that this individual figure things out and get back on their feet soon.
I've gotten some interesting comments regarding my attempt to go dry for 30 days; Some folks were complimenting me on my desire to do it; others thought I was crazy. I've also gotten emails from others about some of the things they wanted to give up for 30 days. Some interesting, others were pretty funny, and yet even more were bizarre (someone said something about not shaving their body hair for 30 days. Ugh). Although it's only been 4 days, it's gone rather smoothly thus far. The biggest challenge is when someone wants to buy you a drink at the bar. Some people really get upset and offended when you politely turn them down. What's up with that? I'm not trying to insult your generosity, just not drinking, that's all. Respect my decision, that's all I'm asking. It's hard enough as it is to keep up my quest.
WEEKEND HAPPENINGS:
Friday: After Work Happy Hour (4pm-8pm): $4.00, all BEERS, MIXED WELL DRINKS and HOUSE WINES.
Saturday: KICK the KEG SATURDAY (12pm-8pm): $2.00 mugs, ALL BEERS ON TAP ('til the keg kicks!).

And finally, I want to wish our boy STIFFLER a very happy 30th birthday this weekend (I hope he doesn't mind that I put that on the blog! LOL)

I just can't believe he's only 30, he looks so much older.
Or is this one of those, "I'm 30 for the fourth time moments"
Wow, that hurts. No, only 30 for the first time thank you very much. Gotta be a silent bob post.
STIFFLER, happy birthday. So how do you feel about older women? I'm only 2 years, 4 days older. That isn't too bad right?
Fired for bad bar behavior? That's just insane - unless he works in the bar...
*smacking that person in the back of the head*
You can get fired for masturbating at work? Oh good God, I'm fucked!
