H = HOLIDAY HANGOVER

After celebrating the last few weeks, starting (in earnest), with Thanksgiving and ending the whirlwind season with a bang on New Year's Eve, eventually all good runs come to an end. Like the saying goes: "What goes up, must come down". That being said, the neighborhood is in the middle of the celebrated "holiday hangover"; that lull after a long holiday weekend. Everyone is pooped out from all of the partying that took place over the holidays; As a result, most folks choose this time to lay low and recover, both physically, mentally and of course, financially.

The restaurants feel it; the bars feel it. Everyone who works in the industry feels it. But it's the nature of the beast. You have that steady stream of good business during the holidays and everyone's happy. It's the slow times however, that tests the character of a business and its staff. And this week is simply one of those weeks. You simply accept it and make the best of the situation until the neighborhood picks up steam again, which usually takes a few days. The neighborhood will bounce back- it always does.

A couple of things to look forward to: For starters, TONIGHT: The Sugar Bowl, featuring NOTRE DAME vs LSU. There are a lot of hardcore ND fans hanging about and no doubt they will be out in force to cheer their team on to victory (personally, I don't see it happening, but that's another story for another day). It's also LADIES NIGHT with $2.00 Mixed Well Drinks (for the ladies), and $4.00 Amstel Light, Coors Light and Blue Moon Ale (for everyone).

This weekend is PLAYOFF FOOTBALL TIME! And with both of the local teams in the playoffs, that should make for a rip-roaring time. Look out for more details for this Sunday's action!

I'm keeping the post short and sweet today. I've been hit with a lot of requests for more NYE pics.
