WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES....

Two days ago, the weather was a nice, balmy 70 degrees; now as I write this, it's snowing. Yes, it's SNOWING!!! What in the heck is going on? SNOW??!?

Yesterday, I spent practically the whole day at the bar, beginning with running errands and setting up the bar for an afternoon of MARCH MADNESS. The afternoon brought in the hardcore die hard fans of college basketball; most of them sneaking out for an extended lunch in order to catch the games. During the afternoon games, we were greeted with about 20,000 angry health care protesters who decided to walk by our bar on their way to the Governor's NYC office. It was interesting to see.

pre-rally set-up...

Some random guy who's been coming in the bar lately; A group of regulars pooled their money together and ordered some pizzas and chicken wings. This guy decides to get up and serve himself a slice of pizza, much to the dismay of the regulars. One of the guys called him on it and he apologized. He ended up getting a slice anyway. Pretty funny....

As you can see, there were quite a few folks who braved the elements to have their voices heard. We sure did hear them!

Thursday night was pretty busy; with the continuation of the March Madness games and the visitors from out of town here for the St. Patrick's Day parade, the night went quickly. Outside of an unfortunate accident involving one of our urinals, there were absolutely no problems at all, which is always good. I also noticed that the fire departments from around the country are starting to make their way into the city; Tonight alone, I came across members from the San Diego Fire Department, Clovis, CA, Detroit FD, Texas and some guys from Montreal, Canada.

I also got to spend a bit of time with REDSKINS GIRL, who'd been M.I.A. for a while. It was nice to hang out and get up to speed on what's going on in her life as well as mine.

Now it's time to try and get a bit of sleep- I have another long day ahead of me. MARCH MADNESS continues today and I'll be there, waiting with bells on.
