WHERE'S THE LUV?

As we find ourselves deep into MARCH MADNESS, one thing has become glaringly clear: there are a lot of haters out there against OHIO STATE (better known as "America's Team). The question I have is: WHY THE HATE?

A lot of folks have animosity against the freshman manchild, GREG ODEN; Many people feel that he's more like 28, instead of his actual age (18); That he looks somewhat older than the average 18 year old, that's not his fault. Others are angry because they feel that he got away with a "intentional foul" in the last game (vs Xavier); Get over it. The boy plays hard.

Then there's the Buckeye mystique. THE Ohio State University boasts the largest athletic department IN THE NATION, and with that comes a long list of winners/champions and of course, that breeds jealousy amongst boosters of other top-notch (and not so top-notch) universities. The tradition-rich university does everything right, from the beautiful colors (scarlet and gray), to the famous marching band (dot the "I"); hell, even the infamous ex-athlete's gain attention from the media (can we say Clarett?). Good or bad, Ohio State is always in the news and on the minds of all Americans.


Now I don't know how far "America's Team" will go in this year's tournament, but let's try to embrace the Buckeyes for who they are: a top-notch team with fantastic players and a great coach. Accept the obvious- they are that damn good and stop hating on them based on sheer jealousy. Jump on the bandwagon before it pulls away for good.
