Anxious female making the trek out of the city....

AND THE EXODUS BEGINS...

As we begin the holiday weekend and the "unofficial" start to the Summer season, people are already making a beeline out of the city. The sounds of traffic seemed louder than normal this morning as New Yorkers try to get a head start on what will be a miserable day of traffic jams on highways headed to the Hamptons or the Jersey Shore. By this time tomorrow, you will be able to hear a pin drop as there will be practically no traffic whatsoever. So for those of you who aren't going away for the holidays, at least you'll get some peaceful sleep for a change.

Last night the bars on 3rd Avenue were teeming with partygoers, celebrating the start of the summer season. We got our share of those patrons as we were hit with a mix of after-work corporate types, sailors in for Fleet Week, tourists in town to visit for the weekend, and locals looking to kick back and relax. The vibe was a casual one and everyone enjoyed it. We even had a guest appearance from our Saturday night doorman, BIG BLACK, who has reestablished himself as a favorite of the patrons who frequent the place.

Yet ANOTHER BIG BLACK photo, this time, with BLONDE CHATTERBOX (and no, that is NOT a vibrator she's holding!)

STIFFLER and "you-know-who", doing the CARLTON DANCE...

Now that the holiday weekend is here, there's no doubt that the city will be quiet. However, we will still be open with drink specials "o'plenty" all weekend long! So if you are around with nothing to do, stop by! As that great commercial from Motel 6 always says: "WE'LL KEEP THE LIGHTS ON FOR YA!"

ONE LAST THING: With Summer finally making an appearance, for many of you it's apartment hunting time. If you are seeking new digs, check out A.C. LAWRENCE REALTY, a real estate company that has a lot of great area listings. Ask for TY and tell him that the SWANFATHER sent ya! They will be sponsoring an informal "Dollar Draft Networking Hour" on Tuesday, June 5th, at 7pm. So stop by for a free mug (or two) of BUD/BUD LIGHT and meet the staff of A.C. LAWRENCE and they can help you with any rental questions/inquiries you may have!

Enjoy the weekend!
