While out for my morning walk, I couldn't help but to take this picture of the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING. I've always been impressed with this majestic symbol of New York City. The way it sticks out over the horizon of the NYC skyline; the history behind it (I bet you didn't know that it was built on the old Waldorf-Astoria site in only 14 months! ) and the number of people that travel near and far just to see it. Funny thing is, as much as I admire it (and I only live four blocks away from it), in all of my years of living here, I've never actually been up to the top of the building. No specific reason why; just never got around to it. I should probably rectify that, shouldn't I? You never know if something comes along and you aren't afforded that opportunity again.
Case in point: I'd never been up to the top of the World Trade Center. I finally got an opportunity to visit during a fundraiser and the view from the Windows of the World restaurant was simply breathtaking. A sight to behold. A month later, 9/11 happened. Talk about weird timing.
DOLLAR DRAFT MADNESS
My moles tell me that last night was a pretty busy night as the nice summer-like weather brought out dollar-draftniks from all over. If last night is any indication of what to expect this summer when we are fully stacked with interns, new-hires and New York newbies, then we will surely have a rockin' summer!

And finally.....
This Sunday marks the FINAL Sunday "Fun-Day" of the season before we hit our summer hiatus. Looking back on it, it was once again a great season, starting with Sunday Football with the Sunday Brew Crew and working our way through the winter. Lots of laughs, some great moments; and as always, a damn good time. I look forward to seeing you guys one last time before we scatter like dandelions in the wind. So if you are in the neighborhood this Sunday, do stop in for a couple of cold ones and a Gentleman's (or two). T-BILL- don't forget your old school IPOD! Rumor has it there will be a surprise guest (or two). Hope to see everyone there!

So you're going to be closed on Sundays for the whole summer? Sundays are the best for afternoon drinking and early crashing getting a good ten hours of sleep before Monday.
B to the...
In this neighborhood, many of the residents go away for the weekend (Hamptons, Jersey Shore, etc.) so it's pretty quiet around here. Not worth opening.
The Sunday Brew Crew second Swanny.. We are pulling for you Clarie..We love you like a FAT kid loves CAKE!!!

Why don't you list the bartenders for the evening each day...That might help me decide if I should come in.
I could do that.. as soon as you post who you are. You might be a bartender-stalker for all I know... We tend to get a lot of those, you know. Or maybe you don't know....
