A NIGHT OF CLOSE CALLS!

Last night, a highly charged crowd of mostly NY Rangers fans witnessed a hard fought, yet very controversial victory by the Rangers over the Buffalo Sabres in Game 4 of the NHL Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. With the Rangers holding on to a slim 2-1 lead with seconds to go in the game, Buffalo scored what appeared to be (and was, in my opinion), a game-tying goal. After what seemed to be an eternity, the goal was waived off and the Rangers held on to win, much to the dismay of the Buffalo players, coaches and fans. This series just got even more intense and as a result, expect another highly charged game on Friday when Game 5 takes place back in Buffalo.

In another close and exciting game, LIVERPOOL went to penalty kicks after sudden death overtime to earn a hard fought victory over arch-rivals, CHELSEA in the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE semi-final in England yesterday. Now they await the winner of the MANCHESTER UNITED/ A.C. MILAN semi-final match (today at 2:30pm). And of course, we'll carry that match live!

Between the soccer, hockey and of course Dollar Drafts, it was a pretty good night, despite the late night downpour. As I mentioned before, the influx of summer interns continue. Nice crop so far. Lots of talk about the upcoming weekend, with Cinco de Mayo and especially the De La Hoya/Mayweather fight. I anticipate a pretty solid turnout for that one.

REMINDER: This Saturday night we WILL be carrying the fight LIVE at the bar, beginning at 9pm. Cover charge: $20.00; Drink specials during the fight. Call (212).447.5711 for details as SEATS ARE LIMITED!!! Make your arrangements NOW!

TONIGHT:

"Girls Night Out" ($2.00 Mixed Well Drinks for the ladies, $4.00 Amstel Light, Coors Light and Blue Moon Ale for everyone)!

can a "goal" be waived off by the refs if it is never called a goal in the first place? Get the facts straight, Swandad! The refs never called it a goal and since the replay was inconclusive, the called stood as: NO GOAL! Stop the Rangers hating.....
