AND THEN THERE WERE TWO....

Last night my bold prediction was mostly fulfilled as the ANAHEIM DUCKS defeated the DETROIT RED WINGS, 4-3 to win the Western Conference and a berth to the STANLEY CUP FINALS. They will face my team, the OTTAWA SENATORS for the right to hoist LORD STANLEY'S CUP beginning this Monday night. For both of these teams, the grueling road to the Cup comes down to this: Win 4 more games and you make your mark in history. It's that simple. Let's drop the puck and may the best team win!

YANKEES/RED SOX has been the epic battle we've come to expect as each team has won one game each in this mini-series, scheduled to end tonight. BOSTON has been flying high with the best record in baseball (thus far), while the YANKEES are uncharacteristically floundering near the bottom of their division; as a result, both the fans and management are genuinely concerned about the status of their team. Being 10 1/2 games out of first place is a startling thought for any fan, but if you are a YANKEE fan, this is simply unthinkable. Will they revert back to form and get their asses back on track? Or will the team face the wrath of "THE BOSS"? Stay tuned...

METS/BRAVES, on the other hand are playing for first place in their division. The NEW YORK METS, fresh off of their interleague win over the YANKEES are flying high and winning New Yorkers over with their fresh style of play. They have become the darlings of the city (for the moment). However, they are facing a red-hot ATLANTA BRAVES team who are determined to regain their foothold back at the top of the N.L. East.

Yesterday was a interesting afternoon for me; I did a rare daytime stint behind the bar and once again, I have to say that I am always intrigued by what goes on during the day. The bar scene during the day and night couldn't be more opposite. Everyone knows more or less what to expect at night with bustling crowds, lots of young patrons looking to party/hook up, etc. The day shift, however, while not nearly as busy as the night (not even close), I'm convinced has more intriguing characters. Between the salesmen that pop in to try and sell me on the latest thing, to folks seeking employment, to construction workers leering at hot chicks during lunch hour; It's truly a hodge-podge of bizarre characters. It definitely makes the day go by quickly.

We had another good turnout for Dollar Draft Madness, as the great weather brought out the masses! Hopefully we'll have more of the same this afternoon/evening with the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL (2:45pm- A.C. MILAN vs LIVERPOOL) and "GIRLS NIGHT OUT".
Should be another good day!

PHOTO OF THE DAY:

This was taken right outside a Chinese restaurant. Hmm... where else can you go for General Tso's chicken and a foot rub, all at once?

AND FINALLY: Every once in awhile, I may post something that someone may find offensive to them. As always, the things that I write about are simply observations of what I see on a day-to-day basis at the bar. If you take offense to what I write, then accept my apologies for my writing, not for your actions, for only YOU control.

That's it for now. Duty calls. Hope to see you soon!

Hmm...interesting. I'm surprised they don't do your nails and dry cleaning while you are dining and getting a foot rub.

If I get the all you can eat buffet, do I get half price on the foot rub?

Did you really label that picture "daytime+ass"? Dude, that's something I'd do. As for "duty calls," make sure you have the newspaper.
