SOLO FLIGHT
The Fourth of July turned out to be a busy one for yours truly, mainly due to lack of available staff. With the bar scheduled to close last week, everyone who would have normally worked this week are more or less unavailable, making other plans for the holidays and such. As a result, yours truly had to step up and take one for the team.
I didn't quite know what to expect, with the holiday being in the middle of the week and with LINDA CHURCH, my favorite weather lady predicting thunderstorms for the evening's festivities. I wasn't sure if the weather would have dampen the turnout or not. The evening started out slowly, with small groups of people popping in for a quick one or two before making their way down to the East River to cop a good spot for the fireworks display.
I got a visit from THE ENERGIZER BUNNY and her roommate, WINNIE COOPER and they kept me company for a bit along with our new neighbor, DOUBLE S. and ROCKAWAY CRAIG, who came in to sample the new PBR cans. MR. LOW-KEY hung out for a few before going out with the missus to a Fireworks Party. We also met a group of guys from MINNESOTA, who were in town for the YANKEES/TWINS series. Really cool guys. Things went pretty well until right after the fireworks display ended. After that, the place got really busy and I ended up finding myself in the weeds rather quickly due to a lack of a barback.
Luckily for me, my roommate, FRENCHY stopped by; He immediately jumped behind the bar and gave me some much -needed assistance and as a result, I was able to eventually catch up on things and get some semblance of order behind the bar. Thanks to you FRENCHY for being there in my time of need.
The place cleared out at about 1:30am as most of the remaining patrons had to get up for work on Thursday. That must really suck! Overall, it was a pretty decent night. I can say that the PBR cans went over pretty well. Look to see more of them in the very near-future.
Now it's time for some much-needed/overdue sleep. More updates to come! Thanks girls for keeping me company for a bit. As always, enjoyed the company!
