RENOVATION WEEKEND
This weekend was a bit of a weird one in that we had on our agenda plans to do some improvement work in the bar. So that meant closing down the bar early on Saturday night to begin prep work for some of the renovations that were to take place.
Scrolling back a few hours, we go back to Friday night. A pretty nice crowd and a pretty laid back night, highlighted by our own BONEY, who re-emerged from hiding after a small hiatus. Through the crowd I could make out our friend, who happened to be in "vulture-mode", scanning the crowd for chicks. Next thing you know, our friend eyes up a "rubenesque" redhead at the bar.
Things looked pretty promising for our friend as he actually held court with the redhead for quite awhile. Next thing you know, he's leaning over and going for the big wet one. BOOYAH! They are making out hot and heavy and the bartenders and myself couldn't help but to give a cheer for the BONE-THUG. And when he led her out the door and up 3rd Avenue, his legendary status was cemented for good.

Saturday afternoon I stopped by the bar to check on a few things and who's there, chilling out and watching LIVERPOOL vs ASTON VILLA? A smug-looking BONEY, dressed in his LIVERPOOL supporter jersey. Apparently things went quite well for our Casanova of Madison Avenue, or so he says. In any case, to listen to him tell the story was pure comic relief as he has a way with words.
As the afternoon went on, a bunch of us ended up playing Trivial Pursuit, the 80's Edition at the bar and when you play Trivial Pursuit and combine it with "Kick the Keg" Saturdays, it makes for an ugly afternoon for some. Just ask BONEY.....
After approx. six hours of Bud Light mugs...

BIG BLACK and OPIE CUNNINGHAM saying their goodbyes....
Eventually we had to put BONEY to bed as the hours of Bud Lights caught up to him as he almost had a stroke while trying to do 30 pushups in front of a crowd of startled well-wishers.
It was also a time to say our goodbyes to OPIE CUNNINGHAM as he prepares to make his big move out to Tinseltown, California to follow his dream. Thanks again for your hard work here and good luck in Cali!
The rest of Saturday night was pretty laid back as the Avenue itself was fairly slow, for the most part. We ended up getting a hit around 11pm and it got steady until we closed for renovation prep work.
The rest of Saturday night and going into Sunday, the majority time was spent on prep work and sanding down of the bar. As you can see from the photos, things change pretty quickly. I feel like we are in that show "Flip This House" as we are trying to get a lot of stuff done in a small period of time.... Hopefully we'll get things back up and running by our target date of Tuesday!
As you can see, it is a work in progress.
Stay tuned!

Isn't that where your old Rockstar Porter went to two years ago, Cali?
And do you really want people to know that you slept with THAT?
B to the...
Every man is different, I guess. For some guys, something like that you take with you to your grave, while others.... It makes the front page of the New York Daily News.
As for the Rockstar Porter, last I heard he was drying out at a rehab in Andorra....
ok i can't say anything nice so i'm just going to keep my mouth shut.
