DAZED AND CONFUSED

It's been one of those weeks already and it's only Tuesday. I'm at the bar today working the day shift and trying to catch up on all of my tasks on that "to-do" list that never seems to end. You know how it is- just when you think you have a handle on the list, ten more things pop up. Sometimes it feels like you're playing that game at the carnival- the one where you bop the gopher on the head with a mallet when it pops out of the hole? The faster you hit it, more gophers pop out of other holes. It's enough sometimes to make your head spin. And with the Labor Day Weekend coming up, I'm already resigned to the fact that I won't be having a vacation before the Fall Season begins, so I block that out of my mind and plug away at the tasks at hand.

One thing I've noticed already is that the streets are a bit quieter than normal; It looks as if a lot of folks have already started their Labor Day Week festivities. That being said, tonight's Dollar Draft Madness will either be a madhouse or pretty mellow. With the combination of the last week of summer in play as well as the highly-anticipated Yankees/Red Sox matchup taking place tonight, I'm willing to bet that the bar will be fairly busy.

We had our annual THIRD and LONG Fantasy Football Draft the other night and although it took place online, the banter that took place amongst the team owners made me realize that we are in store for another year of Sunday Brew Crew fun. While I wasn't particularly happy with my draft (picking 10th out of 12 teams will do that for you), I still like my chances to do well in our league. I mean, hey.... I am a three-time champion.

So, with that being said, it's back to work I go.
