HEATWAVE IN SEPTEMBER???Apparently so. My weather girl HEIDI JONES is telling me that we should be expecting temps to hit mid 80's to close to 90 degrees between now and Friday. I guess this would fall under the category of "Indian Summer", no?
Meanwhile we are in Day 2 of U.N. gridlock hell. Today is expected to be the worst day of the week, due to speeches being delivered to the U.N. General Assembly by President George Bush and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. You can expect the protesters to be out in full force for this one. Yay.
I know I haven't touched on this yet, but what in the hell is happening at Madison Square Garden? They are currently embroiled in a nasty sexual harassment suit involving the coach/president of the New York Knicks, Isiah Thomas and a former female Garden executive. The sordid details of the "inner workings" of MSG has been all over the media and it just makes you shake your head. Whether or not the allegations are true, it's a serious P.R. nightmare for the NY Knicks and the Garden, that's for sure. Today's paper has a former female intern discussing her sexual "tryst" with the team's star player, Stephon Marbury after a night at Mount Vernon's most famous strip club, SUE'S RENDEZVOUS (a frequent haunt of some of the readers of the blog, btw). When will the madness end? Get the full story HERE
HALO 3 was released today to a packed house of geeks who waited outside electronic game stores for hours. Big freakin' deal. Another reason to stay inside and glued to your sofa for hours on end....AND FINALLY: The Yankees' magic number to clinch a wild card spot is 1. And they are only 2 games out of first place. The Mets lost again and with San Diego losing last night, Philadelphia now find themselves tied with the Pods for the Wild Card spot. The Amazin's need to keep one eye on this race as well as their freefall from the division lead; Their lead over Philadelphia has been cut to two games. At the rate they are going, they could easily lose the division as well as the Wild Card spot in one fell swoop. Get it together boys.....
AFRIKA BAMBATTA TAKE NOTE: Your new friend from Sunday afternoon came by looking for you again. Said something about you "sellin' out"..... Hmmmmm.... Making friends everywhere I see!
QUOTE OF THE DAY: "You cannot change the stripes of a leopard" Emmitt Smith (on ESPN Sunday NFL Countdown, not once but AT LEAST twice)

Swanfather,
Ah, Sue's. Brings back high school memories. I can't believe it's still there. It must be sort of a landmark by now. I don't suppose that you've ever been there though, have you?
Your pal,
Mr. T.
Who, me????
Come on, Swandad at Sue's? The dude named this website "diary of third and long", I personally think he's a little light on his feet.
You know who...
God I'm too funny sometimes.
I am a respected gentleman of the community; and respected gentlemen don't get caught in houses of ill-repute.
Swanfather,
Oh. So, you went across the street to Sue's II then?
Your pal,
Mr. T.
