A NEW WEEK ... WITH A COUPLE OF SURPRISES...

Hey everybody! Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving weekend and all that came along with it: The relatives, the turkey with stuffing and cran; the tons of bad football that aired on Thursday; the hype and shopping that came along with BLACK FRIDAY. All of the good things that we seem to associate with Thanksgiving. The holiday was quiet, yet relaxing for me (when I wasn't working)- a welcome respite from the day-to-day chaos that comes with running a bar (even if it was only 24 hours).

We begin a new week with some news: If you note my previous post, we're carrying LIVE, the MAYWEATHER/HATTON PPV championship boxing match on Saturday, December 8, 2007. Now if you are a boxing aficionado, then you will LOVE this matchup. If MAYWEATHER's last fight (vs OSCAR DE LA HOYA) is any kind of indication of what to expect this time around, then you better get your tickets now. There's limited seating available and once we sell out, THAT'S IT! Some people got shut out the last time because they waited until the last minute. Don't make that mistake this time and get your reservations done early. (212).447.5711 is the number to call for pricing information.

There will be a surprise for bar regulars this week; I'm not going to say what it is- you'll have to check in and see for yourself (after Wednesday). HINT: it's something you've been asking about for a long time......

NOTABLE EVENTS THIS WEEK:

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ACTION (Tuesday/Wednesday afternoon): Catch the action of "The Beautiful Game", played by some of the best teams in the world, including MANCHESTER UNITED, CHELSEA, BARCELONA, A.C. MILAN and others. $3.00 Bud/Bud Light/Coors Light during the matches!

"BEAT THE GOATWEED NIGHT" (Wednesday): Bring your favorite pillow as we take our favorite patron (and I use this term loosely), HORNY GOATWEED and pummel him with pillows (or rubber mallets). Stress relief o'plenty! (just kidding......*sigh*) But we do have Coors Light Buckets (5 Coors Light Bottles/$15.00) and $3.00 Molson Canadian drafts all night long (and $3.00 Mixed Well Drinks for the ladies)....

THURSDAY: Coors Light NY Rangers Promo (7pm-9pm): Catch the Rangers in action versus their rivals, the NY Islanders at 7pm; Enjoy $3.00 Molson Canadian drafts and $4.00 Coors Light and enter to win tickets for an upcoming NY Rangers game at Madison Square Garden!

GREEN BAY PACKERS vs DALLAS COWBOYS (8pm): If you are looking to watch this match-up at home.... you're out of luck. This game is on the NFL NETWORK and for some weird reason, Time-Warner Cable won't carry the network. So if you want to catch this marquee matchup, you know where to go.... we have it here!

Tomorrow night we honor JIM LONG as the United Restaurant and Tavern Owners "Man of the Year" at Tavern on the Green (yes, I will actually be wearing a suit). I'll post pictures of the event on Wednesday.
