Last night was probably the first true taste of winter as the temps dipped below freezing and the gusty winds literally cut through you like a hot knife on butter. As a result, few people chose to venture out very far; if they were hanging out in one bar or restaurant, chances were that they stayed in that one spot.
Our crowd was a lively one, highlighted by a gathering of the ST. FRANCIS COLLEGE of BROOKLYN's Alumni Association. They held their yearly gathering at the bar and it was a chance for old and new alums to get together to reminisce over good times past and to raise money for the college.
During this time, this guy came in to catch some of the BEARS/REDSKINS game (which by the way, was one of the most BORING games I've ever watched). Of course, I had to get a picture of this outfit. Are you kidding me? I wanted to ask him where he kept his hunting dogs!
I was also surprised by a visit by a couple of members of my new favorite band, NICOLE ATKINS and THE SEA (Dan the keyboardist and Derek the bassist); they were on a brief break from touring for the new CD and it was nice to see them hanging out. If you haven't checked out their CD "NEPTUNE CITY" yet, make it a point to do so. It's addicting.
All told, it was a pretty entertaining evening.
