SWEET 16!!!!
It seems that the City of Boston will continue its dominance in the world of sports as the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS completed an improbable run towards an undefeated season by defeating the NEW YORK GIANTS, 38-35. During the course of this unprecedented run at greatness, there were plenty of individual records set as well. Most notable were the single season passing/receiving TD records, set by TOM BRADY(50) and RANDY MOSS (23) respectively.
After all of the controversy that followed them after the now-infamous "Videogate" scandal early in the season, the PATRIOTS used that scandal to regroup as a team and show everyone that they were indeed, the real deal. And what resulted was a regular season for the ages. Dominant through most of their games, they will be hard-pressed to be defeated come playoff time.
Speaking of playoffs, while their recent achievement is something to marvel in its own right, to really make this season count, the PATRIOTS will have to win it all. I mean, no less than the Super Bowl. The last team to go undefeated, the 1972 MIAMI DOLPHINS won a Super Bowl at the end of their fantastic undefeated season. So in order to be considered as great (or greater) than that team, they have to run the table through the playoffs AND win the Super Bowl before I can truly call them the all-time best individual team.
Only time will tell. In the meantime, I have to give props where they're due. This team is one for the ages. Congratulations and good luck in the playoffs!
As for today, I want to wish SILENT BOB a "Happy Birthday" (try to get through the day in one piece, big guy) and a hearty congrats to MR. LOW-KEY, who's finally tying the knot TODAY!!! It couldn't happen to a better guy! I'll get you guys the gory details later!
Enjoy the games!
