MAYWEATHER KO'S HATTON!!!
In what turned out to be the most entertaining of an otherwise dull fight card, FLOYD MAYWEATHER showed everyone why he is the pound-for-pound best fighter in boxing today. His dismantling of a game-yet-outclassed RICKY HATTON proved to the naysayers once and for all that he is the real deal, much to the dismay of the largely pro-HATTON capacity crowd at the bar.
I won't even go into the undercard because quite frankly, most of the matches on the card sucked ass. Very boring. The bar crowd spent most of that time drinking and chatting away, anxiously awaiting the main event. When it came time for the big showdown, the Brits in the crowd stood up and sang GOD SAVE THE QUEEN along with Sir Tom Jones, who sang the British National Anthem for the sold out Las Vegas crowd. Nice touch. When it came time for the American National Anthem, the Americans in the bar decided that they had to show their patriotism by singing along with Tyrese, who was chosen to sing the song at the fight. Of course, the majority of the Americans at the bar butchered the song, but hey, with Brits "booing" the American National Anthem, I guess you pick your poison. Surprising lack of class by the Brits I have to say.
Once the fight began, everyone was locked into the action of the ring. HATTON, to his credit, took the fight to MAYWEATHER at the beginning of each round and for a while, had the champion on his heels. Eventually, the champ showed everyone why he's the best fighter around by putting on a display of offense and defense that ultimately put away the game challenger. Although HATTON was knocked out in the 10th round, he made a great showing for himself and his country. A fun fight to watch.
