SWANFATHER'S TOP TEN AND 1/2 TUNES ON THE 'POD

Here's what I find myself drawn to while listening to the 'pod:

1) BODY- Ja Rule. I never thought he'd ever make it back from obscurity after his whole "Murder,INC vs 50 Cent" feud; however, if this some is indicative of what's to come for Mr. Rule, then "giddy-up"!

2) POLICE AND THIEVES- Junior Murvin. I've been on a re-birth of a "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" kick recently and this particular song sticks out among all of the others.

3) KISS, KISS- Chris Brown. Catchy tune; Makes a brotha feel young again though to be quite honest, the only reason why I keep rewinding this damn song is to figure out how to pronounce the name of the town where he and REDSKINS GIRL come from.

4) SHADOWPLAY- The Killers. I admit, I'm probably a little late to the Killer's game, but I've only recently found an appreciation for this band. This song reminds me of something you'd find in an independent Brit film.

5) SHAKE IT- Metro Station. Don't even know how this song got onto my 'pod, but I like it.

6) GOOD LIFE- Kayne West. Though I can't stand the motherf****r personally, I have to give credit where it's due. The punk bitch cranks out hits.

7) MAYBE TOMORROW- Stereophonics. First came across this song in the film "Wicker Park" (which sucked ass); It's the only good thing that came from that film and it's been in my head ever since.

8) STRONGER THAN ME- Amy Winehouse. One of her earlier hits, before she made it big in the States and before she went on that "her-ron" and lost her damn mind.

9) CHRISTMASTIME IS HERE- The Vince Guaraldi Trio. A classic no brainer. Get misty everytime I hear it.

10) STILL RAY- Raphael Saddiq. The former lead singer of Tony, Toni, Tone still keeps it real with this track; And the fact that he's banging Joss Stone is an added plus. Lucky bastard.

10 1/2) MAYBE TONIGHT- Nicole Atkins. I've been raving about this chick for a few weeks now and with good reason. Everytime I listen to her CD, it grows on me more and more. It's that good.

swandad, the killers song sounds like a brit tune because it's a cover version of the great 70's/80's British band Joy Division. nice ear instinct.
