GIANTS vs PATRIOTS IN SUPER BOWL XLII-IT'S AWWWWN!!!

NFL Championship Sunday at Third and Long proved to be one for the ages as we experienced one of our busiest and exciting Sunday in quite a long time! With two huge games featuring four great teams, the fans were expecting competitive, yet exciting games and they were certainly treated to both.

The first game was the AFC Championship game pitting the highly-touted (and undefeated) New England Patriots, riding a season-high 17 game winning streak, hosting the red-hot San Diego Chargers. While most football pundits expected the highly-favored New England to walk all over the visiting team (due to brutally cold temps and loads of talent), the game ended up being much closer than expected. When all was said and done, the Patriots held serve and won their way into Super Bowl XLII (that's Roman for 42 for you illiterate types), 21-12.

Who New England would face would be another story as the NFC Championship game featured the host team Green Bay Packers against the local favorites, the NY Giants. This game was being played in the lovely confines of Green Bay's historic Lambeau Field (better known as the Frozen Tundra), where temps at game time hovered around -6 degrees.

Both teams were on a roll going into the game and the crowd at the bar were "amped-up" for this matchup. By the time the game started, the place was fully packed and everyone was totally about the game. And this game did not disappoint at all. It featured highs and lows for both teams and carried the fans with them every step of the way. After each quarter, the bar kept the fans entertained with raffles for hats, tee-shirts and a couple of nifty Budweiser beer coolers.

We raffled off T-shirts, hats and beer coolers all afternoon...

As luck would have it (not so much for the faint of heart), the NFC Championship game went down to the wire, and eventually into overtime. I don't know how it was for most people but the game had me at the edge of my seat and I'm not even a fan of either team. When the NY Giants kicked the game-winning field goal in overtime, the place erupted in cheers and tears. What a great feeling and a sight to see.

On another note- the "drunken hot-mess" casualty list grew by leaps and bounds yesterday as I found myself putting more than a few BREW CREW members into cabs and sending them home; sadly, alcohol got the best of them but at least they went down swinging! Bless their hearts.

At least someone in Green Bay was celebrating....

Tears of joy....

Next up: Super Bowl XLII, featuring a rematch of Week 17 combatants, New England vs New York. Here's an interesting fact: When these two teams played each other in the last week of the season, both teams got a lot of flack for playing their starters because, quite frankly, neither team had much to play for- both teams already qualified for the post-season and New England's motivation was simply to go for an undefeated regular season. Why risk injuring your key players? As it turned out, those two teams were the only two teams to play all of their regulars for the full game that week; So it's fitting that they face each other again for all of the marbles. Looking forward to a great day of football!

And without further adieu, photo recaps of the day......

Yes, boys and girls, OLD FART is back among us again....

The CORNER BOYS, holding down their usual spot with pride!

"Hmmm... What box do I want?"

Old-School 3 & L vets, JAMIE and NEIL, hanging out for old times' sake.....

"Can I have a brochure?"

"Shake that rump to the funk!"

There are no words that can describe what took place here; I was simply trying to collect empty pint glasses....I SWEAR!

It was indeed a fun afternoon. If you got pics you want to share from yesterday's festivities, feel free to shoot them over to me and I'll post 'em. Don't forget about DOLLAR DRAFT MADNESS tonight ($1.00 Bud/Bud Light/Coors Light Mugs ALL NIGHT LONG)!

The Giants cheated.

I fucked each of the "bikini girls."

Is it just me or did you change the layout once again?

Is that a boob in your face?

Why do you look scared that there's a boob in your face?

You're starting to worry me there, buddy.

To answer your questions:

1)Yawn.

2)So did I.

3)Yes, got bored.

4)Yes it is a boob.

5)That boob came out of nowhere- frankly, I was in a quasi-state of shock.
