WOW....

What in the world is going on these days? Every time you look up someone of note is dying off. It's one thing when someone of note had a long and distinguished life and career (Ex. SUZANNE PLESHETTE, of the BOB NEWHART SHOW, Chessmaster BOBBY FISCHER, or SIR EDMUND HILLARY, the first man to conquer Mount Everest); However, when the person of note is still relatively young, it's somewhat shocking to see.

There's always been the occasional case of a young celebrity who's life ended too soon. More often or not that individual was labeled "a wild child" or "troubled". The most recent death of BRAD RENFRO gave credence to that label. So when the death of HEATH LEDGER took place yesterday here in New York, it simply threw me for a loop. You never really heard that much about this guy having any real problems (he just broke off an engagement with actress MICHELLE WILLIAMS, and had a child with her but they seemed to be cordial), but aside from that, he seemed to have everything going for him. I guess the pressures of being in the spotlight got the best of him. What a shame.

I guess you simply can't take things for granted these days. Appreciate what you have and who you have because you never know......
