NOT YOUR NORMAL WEDNESDAY NIGHT....
Last night was livelier than usual for a Wednesday, especially in light of the fact that it was brutally cold outside. We had a more than our fair share of attractive ladies, partaking in the attractively-priced drink special ($3.00 Mixed Well Drinks). We also had a couple of folks hanging out and checking out the local hockey teams.
We also had our fair share of hook-ups and drama throughout the course of the evening. Between the Champagne Room getting its fill of action and former friends having a huge blowup in the middle of the bar, let's just say that it certainly wasn't your normal Wednesday night.
Quote of the Day (from a regular who's seen his share of relationship drama in his day):
"Third and Long is my home. It's been there for me through all of my troubles and relationships. It is my lighthouse and my albatross....".
Interesting thought.
I had a short conversation with the owner of MANHATTAN CENTER MARKET; He shared with me a story about an encounter he had the night before. As it turns out, when he was on his way out of the store, he came across four really attractive young ladies, digging through the garbage outside of his store. So he sat in his car for a few minutes and then finally confronted them about it. He asked them what they were doing and they said they were looking for food.
This apparently startled the owner because the young ladies didn't appear to be the type that would be rummaging through garbage for food. They were well-kept and clean. He asked them why they would be digging for food. If they were unemployed and such; Turns out they all have jobs but with the cost of living in Manhattan being as such, getting food this way sometimes helps save money.
At that point, the girls walked away. The guy drove off, but instead of driving straight home, he decided to take a ride around the block. Sure enough, when he came back around the store, there were the girls again, going through the trash. They ended up taking some stale loaves of bread.
Damn. Talk about sad stuff. That's the price of living in the Big Apple I guess.
Anyone catch the lunar eclipse? It was beautiful.... for about two minutes. The brutally cold weather got the best of me after that.
