EVERYONE LOVES A VICTORY PARADE...With the weather forecast calling for heavy rains, that didn't seem to deter hardcore eager NY GIANTS fans as they made their way down to the Canyon of Heroes to toast their team.
Broadway began filling up with fans as early as 7am as the truly hardcore fans clamored for prime viewing spots along the parade route. By 11 am, the streets of Lower Manhattan was packed with blue, the colors of the World Champion NY GIANTS.
The team is now at City Hall, as I write this, waiting for the formal victory ceremony to take place. So while that goes on, I'll move on to other things related to the GIANTS.
Last night was slower than normal, no doubt due to post-Super Bowl hangover; however, we did get to meet some interesting tourists.
First group of tourists: A group of older men (7 in total); dressed semi-formal-like. From Ireland. They order Heineken bottles and settle in at the bar. Small talk with the guys and it turns out that they had placed a bet on the underdog GIANTS to win the Super Bowl. Obviously they won their bet. So what do they do? They collect the winnings, buy plane tickets to New York and fly over to catch the Victory Parade. How cool is that?
Second group of tourists: A group of three (two ladies and a older guy), here visiting from Chicago. Just had dinner at BUTTER, an upscale restaurant/lounge, frequented by celebrity and wannabes. They were sitting in the upstairs dining section and had just ordered their appetizers when the manager walked over to them and asked if they could move downstairs. The guy asks why, saying that they had just ordered their meal. The manager says that the upstairs was needed for a private party and that they really needed for the group of three to move downstairs. The group was starting to get upset when they noticed ELI MANNING and JEREMY SHOCKEY and a group of GIANTS players making their way upstairs. They graciously gave up their seats and gave him the thumbs up. Funny stuff.
By the way, I also found time during my busy day to get my vote on in today's Super Tuesday primary. Did you?
DON'T FORGET ABOUT OUR "SUPER-FAT TUESDAY" PARTY TONIGHT!!!
