OPENING DAY 2008!

Today is one of those rites of Spring that everyone looks forward to each year; Opening Day of Major League Baseball. Hope springs eternal as fans of the Mets, Yankees and all the other teams in Major League Baseball make the pilgrimage to their local ballparks, with thoughts of the World Series dancing in their heads. Personally, I think that this will finally be the Year of the Tribe (better known as "The Cleveland Indians, a.k.a. "America's Team"). who may finally have the right balance of offense and pitching to achieve the dream of winning the championship.

One can dream, can't he? That is what makes Opening Day great. First pitch, 1:o5pm.

The other day I lamented about how my Friday was two ticks away from being a disaster, due to my barback quitting on us last minutes. Things went from bad to worse on Saturday, when a fire on East 34th Street caused the phone lines on our block to go out. So picture this: Every bar and restaurant on our side of the street was without phone service for the rest of Saturday, Sunday and even now as I write this. Verizon is no help whatsoever- no one has reached out to tell us what's going on; When you try to call them, you are sent through a labyrinth of messages, voice mails, and so on. In other words, a royal clusterfuck.

When will the madness end?
