Follow the daily interactions of an affable bar manager of pretty cool and not-so-typical watering hole in NYC, in a not-so-typical neighborhood, Murray Hill. There may be some blurbs overheard at the bar, stimulating observations and random thoughts on random things. So be careful, you never know what might end up here....Enjoy and welcome to my world!

BREAK OUT THE BROOM????
A pro-Ranger crowd at the bar watched in stunned silence as the Pittsburgh Penguins continued their dominance over the Blueshirts, beating them 5-3 to take a commanding 3 games to none lead in the best-of-seven series.
The Rangers looked out of step from the beginning of the game and the visiting team took full advantage of it, jumping out to a quick 3-1 lead after one period. The Blueshirts, however, brought the crowd back into the game by scoring twice early in the second period; thus giving the pro-Ranger crowd at the bar a sense of hope. However, as luck would have it, instead of taking advantage of the shift in momentum, the Rangers allowed Pittsburgh to regain its composure. Next thing you know, the Pens score again and didn't look back, ultimately winning the game 5-3.
After the game, there were quite a few dejected Ranger fans downing their dollar drafts. I didn't hear too many patrons talking about Ranger comebacks; As a matter of fact, the general sense was that this group was resigned to the fact that Pittsburgh is probably going to win this series. The question of the moment: Will the Penguins score their second straight series sweep of the playoffs? Stay tuned.....
This will be a short post as I have a long day ahead of me on Wednesday. Starting with an early doctor's appointment, followed by a RARE trip to Shea Stadium to catch the Mets and Pirates; then back to the bar to catch the end of the LIVERPOOL/CHELSEA Champions League match before settling in for another night at work in the bar.
