Last night was a pretty good night on more than a few levels. For starters, the weather was nice, cool and breezy, which made for a comfortable atmosphere (especially with the windows opened). Then you had the double-female combination of BABY GIRL and REDSKINS CHICK behind the bar, which was kind of daring (for our standards, anyway), since we've NEVER had two women behind the bar (as far as I can recall). Add to that mix, no barback and we were sailing into uncharted territory.
As it turns out, aside from a few slight bumps in the road (very minor stuff), the girls handled themselves pretty well. They were very engaging with the patrons, did a pretty good job of keeping up with everyone's order and cleaning glasses (most of the time) and made sure that everyone had fun. The girls also had more than their share of folks who came by to see them, including a nice turn out from the BREW CREW.
We also raffled off a pair of tickets to Thursday's KID ROCK concert at Madison Square Garden, and guess who won? Our own MAYOR of MURRAY HILL! Enjoy the show, big guy!
NAPOLEON DYNAMITE and his company softball team stopping by for a victory drink (or three)...
BETTY BOOP, NORBIT, SILENT BOB and BLONDE CHATTERBOX pausing for a photo-op...
THAT DAY BARTENDER GUY, surrounded by fans...
I have to say it was a pretty good night, especially for a Wednesday. I may have to revisit this girl-girl tandem behind the bar again in the future. But one thing's for certain- we will have a barback on duty!!!

Kenny Dolan was alive for a brief 23 years. Yet in that time, he not only brought a tremendous amount of joy to a great number of people, but more importantly he taught them how to laugh, love and have fun.
Tragically, On March 14, 1990 Kenny passed away as a result of an automobile accident. The Kenny Dolan Memorial Fund at Iona College has been established from this race to assist some student in need of financial support for his or her education. It is in this spirit that Kenny will be remembered.
That's it for now!

How quickly you forget the Fantastic female duo Of Angel and Hasbrownie behind the bar! :(
I could never forget the Fantastic Female Duo!! I meant as employees, not as guest bartenders- though if you were to include that, then you two would definitely be the originals!!!
