TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT!

It's Wednesday and tonight we finally end the long journey that we set out on a few months ago when Third and Long was nominated for AOL's "Best Sports Bar in NYC", with the unveiling of the award that certifies us as being the best of the best.

Now if you've been living under a rock and find your scratching your head in wonderment on how we got this award, let me give you the Cliff-Notes version of how it went down.

A few months ago, we received a letter in the mail from AOL indicating that we were nominated as a top-ten finalist for "Best Sports Bar in NYC". The winner would be determined by online/mobile phone voting. Among the other nominees were bigger, more established venues like ESPN ZONE, 40/40 CLUB, BLONDIE'S, PROFESSOR THOM'S, just to name a few.

Now these are much bigger places, well known for food, sports and fun. How in the hell did we get included in this list? Granted, we're known for fun, Sunday Brew Crew craziness and such, but "Best Sports Bar in NYC"? You must be joking.

Instead of tossing the letter, we decided to have some fun with it. So we took it to you, our favorite supporters, presented the scenario and asked you to vote, basically for shits and giggles. And with that, the unthinkable took place. Not only did we take a huge lead, we woke up the sleeping giants and shook up their egos. They tried to make a run on us, and at one point ESPN ZONE and to a lesser extent, 40/40 CLUB actually came back on us to make it close. But in the end, little THIRD and LONG prevailed, winning the coveted award of "BEST SPORTS BAR in NYC"!

So tonight, THIRD and LONG celebrates its recognition as AOL's "Best Sports Bar in NYC" with their favorite patrons! And as NYC's #1 sports bar, we're offering $1.00 OFF ALL REGULAR-PRICED BEERS AND MIXED DRINKS! And most importantly, check out the AWARD we received for being voted "Best Sports Bar in NYC"!
