After a long, quiet summer, NHL HOCKEY is back! The 2008-09 season revs up this week with the opening games taking place over the weekend in Europe. Most of the teams begin their regular seasons this Thursday night and once again, THIRD and LONG will be the destination of choice to catch all of your NHL action. From the local teams (NY RANGERS, NJ DEVILS or NY ISLANDERS), to any of the other fan favorites, including the PITTSBURGH PENGUINS, DETROIT RED WINGS, ANAHEIM DUCKS, BOSTON BRUINS or even the dreaded PHILADELPHIA FLYERS, you can count on us to be your home-away-from-home for all things NHL.
Throughout the season we'll have "Hockey Night in NY" parties with giveaways including gear and game tickets! MOLSON CANADIAN is back on tap for the season as the "Official Hockey Brew of THIRD and LONG" and will be specially priced for all of you diehard puckheads as well as COORS LIGHT during all NHL games! So spread the word and let's get it on!
On a side note: The NY Rangers let one of the more "unique" players of the NHL get away when SEAN AVERY signed a free agent contract with the DALLAS STARS. Here's a recent, entertaining interview of the former agitator of the Rangers. Worth a look.
