SUPER BOWL WEEKEND HAS ARRIVED!!!
Well, it's almost that time. After 17 weeks of regular season play and three weeks of playoff action, we finally get to the BIG GAME; the game that counts the most. After all was said and done, we find ourselves cheering for what turned out to be an improbable matchup: the PITTSBURGH STEELERS vs the ARIZONA CARDINALS.
The Steelers are currently favored by 7 points, however, I find myself speaking to a lot of new- found Cardinals fans, hoping for an upset. At this point, I am simply hoping for a competitive, high-scoring game that will keep the patrons in their seats and watching the game. We have a lot of things on tap for the "Big Game", including a halftime buffet and a raffle featuring cool prizes like a football helmet-shaped bbq grill, a roll-away beer cooler, and other cool prizes. We also have a pool that will give away a 42" TV to the winner to take home after the game. It should be a good time at the bar; Let's just hope that the game live up to the hype!
As always, I advise everyone to get to the bar early as we don't take reservations. First come, first serve, that's how we do it. We'll have Iron City and Leinenkugel bottles for the die hard Steelers/Cardinals fans as well as our usual Bud/Bud Light/Bud American Ale specials throughout the day.
Most importantly, however, is the fact that yours truly will be free from No-Juice January as the Super Bowl is on February 1st! Let the pigeons loose (or in this case, the "Gentlemen's")....
If you are around this weekend, make sure to stop by; Especially on Sunday as it is also the last hurrah for the SUNDAY BREW CREW for the 2008-09 football season. As always, it's been a great ride! I'm sure we'll go out with a bang.
