BIG BLEW...IT!

At about 4:15pm yesterday, a loud deflating sound could be heard in the bar (and no we're not talking about NAPOLEON DYNAMITE farting outbursts), as the NY Giants went down to defeat to the streaking Philadelphia Eagles, 23-11.

The game itself was (in my eyes), somewhat unsettling because while the game itself was a close one throughout until the very end, you kept waiting for the Giants to flick on the "turbo" switch and kick themselves into high gear. But it never quite happened and they allowed the Eagles to stay in the game long enough to put the game out of reach with a "chippy" production of a game. Meaning they would "chip" away at the G-men with a field goal here, a key play there, and next thing you know, they were ahead to stay. As a result, the underdog Eagles move on to the NFL Championship (after sneaking into the playoffs mind you) and the defending champions go home to think about what could have been. After the loss, the bar (and Third Avenue) experienced a mass exodus like one you've never seen.

Oh well, there's always next season and in the meantime, there's still games to play.

Now that the dust has settled, here's your "Final Four" for next Sunday's American and National Conference Championship games:

3PM: Philadelphia Eagles vs Arizona Cardinals (huh?)

6:30PM: Pittsburgh Steelers vs Baltimore Ravens

It should be a good set of games and of course, we'll be there with all of the action, leading up to SUPER BOWL XLIII! Don't forget to check in to inquire about the chance to win a 42" Flat-Screen TV!

We also had a TURBO sighting yesterday as he did a "fly-by" and waved to everyone in the window. Also got to see a rare side of NORBIT as he had to "dress down" a snotty female patron as she and her boyfriend tried to steal some bar stools that were being used by some other patrons who had gone to the bathroom. And then there's NAPOLEON, who really needs to see someone about his gas problem. Thank god for Lysol!

While the NY Giants didn't quite deliver the results everyone was expecting, it was still a fun afternoon.

TONIGHT: "Recession Mondays" featuring $1.00 mugs (Bud, Bud Light, Bud American Ale, Coors Light) or $2.00 Domestics (Blue Moon, Sam Adams, Sam Adams Winter Lager, Brooklyn Chocolate Stout), ALL NIGHT LONG!

What, no Dolphin fans? Did they just give up drinking after their pathetic team lost in the first round? Losers.
