I DIDN'T THINK I'D SEE THE DAY.....

That I would run across someone that would remind me of HORNY GOATWEED. Yes, remember back in the day when our dear friend first started coming to the bar and would drive everyone nuts? Granted he's much gentler now and we've grown to appreciate the original for who he is, but remember the early incarnations of him? Well, I think I may have run into someone who may possibly be capable of taking the title of the HORNY ONE. Think of him as a new model car version of the original. Younger, louder, brasher, stranger.... yes strange but true. This guy is a piece of work.

He started coming in on his own, say about a month or two ago and from the first day he was a pain in the ass. One of those types who always wants to start a conversation, mainly to hear himself talk. He's almost always alone and if he isn't trying to talk your ear off about nothing, he's futzing around with the jukebox, playing rap tunes to up his coolness factor. Oy vey.

He was at it again last night, trying to chat up the ladies and if they weren't available (it's amazing how many times a female will go to the bathroom to escape such a thing), he would be at the jukebox, downloading the best of "Biggie Smalls". This time, he somehow found himself a "wingman" to help him work the ladies; a Brit who was probably ten years older than GOATWEED JR. and probably twice as drunk. They tried to work the game on some chicks but it of course, backfired and the ladies ended up making a hasty retreat out of the bar. We ended up having to throw the wingman out of the bar after he got a little too "touchy, feely" with another female patron (though he couldn't quite understand why he was being asked to leave). Eventually GOATWEED JR talked himself(literally) into leaving the bar before he got himself into trouble. I got a feeling it won't be the last time we'll see this character at the bar. Yea.

K-ROCK Radio and Planters sponsored a promotion called "The Biggest Sports Nut in NYC", where individuals were invited to spin a prize wheel for Nets game tickets, Opie and Anthony comedy show tickets, t-shirts, hats, and all of the usual swag that's given out at these sort of things.

Even NORBIT got into the act, winning some K-Rock swag...

Overall, the promo was a success and everyone seemed to have a good time. And the K-Rock girls weren't bad to look at either.
