ELEPHANT PARADE HI-JINXS

Last night the bar hosted it's Annual Elephant Parade party. Originally scheduled for tonight, we had to scramble to spread the word once we found out that the parade had been pushed up to Monday night. Nevertheless, the turnout was fantastic as the parade vets as well as the curious showed up to down some beers in anticipation of the march.

One positive note regarding this event: It certainly does bring out the cuties, that's for sure. The bar was teeming with them as they hung out in packs, excited about checking out the elephants.

While everyone was hanging out inside, getting their drink on and such, I found myself hanging outside, being on "unofficial pachyderm watch". Every year I find myself taking on the role of watchman for the elephants and giving the signal when they finally emerge from the tunnel. It's a thankless job, really, but someone has to do it I guess. Once again the elephants were late and once again it was cold as balls outside. But eventually they came and of course everyone ran outside to see the show. I have to admit, this year's parade was disappointing as they only brought out five elephants, as opposed to the promised ten as advertised. Oh well. By then, everyone was shit-faced and didn't really care. They had a good time and the bar had a good night. What else could you ask for?

More Elephant Parade pics available on our FACEBOOK page.

Before I sign off, just wanted to say that I finally saw "The Wackness", an indie film starring Ben Kingsley, who plays a psychotherapist who has a strange relationship with a young patient with whom he scores pot from in lieu of payment for his sessions. The film takes place in 1994 and has a killer soundtrack. Comedy with a bit of a bite to it. Check it out On-Demand or on DVD.

TONIGHT: "Dollar Draft Madness" with $1.00 mugs, Bud/Bud Light ALL NIGHT LONG!
