BUSY DAY ON TAP
Today is the beginning of the Easter holiday weekend and with that, there's plenty of sports on tap today. Beginning with THE MASTERS, the whole golfing world will be watching to see if phenom TIGER WOODS will be able to show that he's back once and for all.
Then there's also plenty of Major League baseball on tap, with both local teams playing day games; Mets vs Reds (12:30pm) and Yankees vs Baltimore (1:30pm), along with seven other afternoon games.
And it doesn't stop there: There's also some big-time hockey taking place today with the NY Rangers playing for a playoff berth tonight vs their heated rivals, the Philadelphia Flyers (7pm). If that isn't enough for you, the NCAA Frozen Four kicks off this afternoon at 5pm with Miami, Ohio vs Bemidji State, followed by Boston University vs University of Vermont (8:30pm).
As you can see, it's a busy day for sports and that's how we like it here at Third and Long!
Pub Trivia took place last night and while I wasn't quite sure what to expect with the Passover holiday kicking off, it actually turned out to be a pretty fun night. The theme of this week's Trivia was "Friends" (the TV show) and we had a lot of newcomers taking part, which is always a good thing. The competition was fierce and everyone had a good time. Many of the patrons taking part in Trivia actually hung around afterwards, enjoying the board games we put out and having an impromptu dance-off to oldies like "Shout" (from Animal House) and the like. Overall it was a better night than I expected and for once I actually regretted not having my camera. A nice way to kick off the holiday weekend. Next up: The Pub Trivia Tournament of Champions this Monday!
That's it for now as I have to get ready for a busy afternoon! More updates to come!
