TO THE VICTORS GO THE SPOILS....
Last night Third and Long hosted it's version of the "Tournament of Champions".... of Pub Trivia, that is. The competition featured six of the best trivia teams in recent months, going head-to-head in a battle to see who was the ultimate Trivia Buffs of the bar. The bar was teeming with Trivia buffs and Mets fans, eager to see their Amazin's win their home opener against San Diego.
After almost three hours of hard-fought competition, the Mets lost a heart breaker of a game, 6-5; Meanwhile, back at the ranch, "the Dumpster Babies" rose above all of the other teams to lay claim as "Best Trivia Team" of Third and Long, winning a $50 bar tab and a nice little trophy to call their own. A couple of weeks ago we hosted the "Elephant Parade" party in honor of the Ringling Bros. Elephants who would be making the trek up 34th Street to Madison Square Garden. Well, imagine our surprise when those same elephants CAME BACK from MSG, back across 34th Street and BACK into the Midtown Tunnel, heading out of town!? Who knew? We'll some folks were lucky enough to enjoy the show as there was practically no crowds whatsoever to catch the parade! Something to look out for next year I guess.
TUESDAY: "Dollar Draft Madness", featuring $1.00 Bud/Bud Light mugs, ALL NIGHT LONG!
