GAME 7 STINKER....
The Game 7 Eastern Conference Semi-Final matchup between Pittsburgh and Washington had the makings of a classic battle. The NHL's two stars of the moment, SIDNEY CROSBY and ALEX OVECHKIN leading their respective teams to the ultimate battle in which only one team could win. This was the game that everyone was talking about; the matchup the NHL had been waiting for. Would this game go down the wire? Would it go into overtime? Who would prevail?
Unfortunately, the reality could not live up to the hype as Crosby and Pittsburgh jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back, cruising to an anti-climatic 6-2 road victory over the Capitals, stunning the home crowd in the process. It looks like Crosby wins the bragging rights in the head-to-head battle between the league's biggest superstars and now they await their next opponent, Boston or Carolina.
While the onslaught of the Capitals was taking place, our weekly Pub Trivia night kicked in, with an enthusiastic crowd participating. While the patrons were whooping it up inside the bar, I think the most entertaining part of the night took place OUTSIDE of the bar. There was this bum who happened to be walking by the bar with a tall boy of Bud in hand. The windows were opened and music was blaring outside so I guess it caught his attention so he stopped and hung out by the open windows. Now I'm watching him from my perch and found myself amused by what happened next. He started dancing along with the music and then proceeded to break out in a renditon of "All I Need To Get By" by Method Man/Mary J. Blige. Then he began to do a variation of a pop-lock dance, much like what Re-Run from "What's Happening" used to do back in the day.
While all of this is going on, folks were walking by like nothing happened. Typical New York moment. Eventually, the bar closed the front windows and for a moment, the bum looked a bit disappointed at the fact that his music got cut off. Then he starts to walk away when he decided to make a break for it and darted inside the bar. Now I'm still watching all this from my window, waiting to see how long it would take before he got tossed out on his ass. Lucky for him he was escorted out gracefully and the poor guy sauntered off into the night. Funny stuff.
