BACK TO THE GRIND...

I know what you're thinking. Why am I here? I know the feeling. After what turned out to be one of the most relaxing Memorial Day weekends in recent memory, it's difficult to go back to work today. Most of you are probably sitting at your desks, staring off into space and recalling all of the good times that took pace over the weekend. Whether it be in the Hamptons, the Jersey Shore, upstate New York, or simply taking in the relaxed vibe of Manhattan like I did, the last thing you wanted to do was to head back to work today. Don't worry. The Fourth of July is only a month away.

Speaking of the Hamptons, it seems that there was a lot of "action" out on the East End, the kind that you don't really like to read about. Two drug overdoses at Neptune Beach Club. Between five and ten alcohol-related poisonings at the Boardy Barn (shocker). A FATAL STABBING at the Hampton Bays Diner? Whoa. All of this brought back memories of holiday weekends past out East back in my heyday when I used to work at Neptunes. While I generally enjoyed my time out there back in the day, I DREADED the holiday weekends such as Memorial Day and July 4th. Why? Because the holiday weekend was when the "amateurs" came out to play. Between the guidos from Bensenhurst, Brooklyn and the LIDS (Long Island Dicks), the holiday weekend was great for business but a nightmare for the staff working that weekend. From domestic disputes, drunken debauchery, techno-fueled brawls... it was a pain in the ass. Major reason why I left the scene. I guess some things never change.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE final takes place tomorrow. After months of grueling play, the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE is down to the final two: MANCHESTER UNITED and BARCELONA. I've actually gotten calls for the match, reservations no less! It should be a good match and of course, we'll have it live. 2:30pm. $3.00 Bud/Bud Light/Coors Light pints throughout the match!
