Last night's Game 4 matchup between Cleveland and Orlando was a huge must-win for the Cavaliers if they wanted to have a realistic chance at winning this series. I went into last night's game feeling as I have been the whole series: cautiously optimistic. This is because of the heartbreak that I, a long-suffering Cleveland fan have experienced over the years. I've seen this scenario play out before. A team gets your hopes high, only to pull you down at the end. So while the Cavs were on their improbable run during the course of the season, you couldn't help but to feel good about the team. And when they blew through the first two series, you had to feel the confidence growing, thinking "This could finally be the championship we've waited for all these years".
However, going into the Orlando series, I couldn't help but to feel a bit nervous. They won the season series against us; they matchup well against us and while we have "The King", they have the balance. And until we figure out a way to overcome their balance, this will turn out to be another short-lived storybook season.
So now after yet another heartbreaking loss, the Cavs now find themselves in a 3-1 hole, needing to win three straight to make it into the NBA Finals. Is it possible? Of course, it is. Will it happen? I'll remain cautiously optimistic until the very end but it ain't lookin' good. Like I said before, I've been down this road before.
Stay tuned. On a separate note, SC, sorry I missed ya. Hope you enjoyed the pint!
