TWO MONTHS DOWN, ONE TO GO...

As we head into August I am still at a loss as to where our summer went. I mean granted, we've finally gotten a taste of summer this week with sweltering heat and humidity, but overall we really haven't had much to celebrate this year. If it wasn't raining, it was unseasonably cool. WTF? At this point I am ready to forgo August and jump right into September and the fall season, if for nothing else, the start of football season.

I wanted to touch upon Wednesday night for a moment; We'd gotten a shitload of rain throughout the day and wasn't feeling very confident about the prospects for a successful Pub Trivia night. However, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the turnout, both from the diehard regulars and from a nice contingent of newbies. It turned out to be a pretty good night after all, despite the inclement weather and I wanted to say THANK YOU for everyone who turned out. It was a fun night.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting one of my blog readers for the first time. She's a fan of the bar and have been following the blog for some time. While I had been aware of who she was, I actually hadn't had the opportunity to meet her until yesterday while working the day shift. The circumstances of our chance meeting was "interesting" to say the least, but it turned out to be a good meeting nevertheless. I'm glad to finally put a face with a name.

Thanks to the god-awful heat and humidity, I've been working my AC overtime and the downfall from that is that now I feel a cold coming on. I can't win I tell ya, I can't win.

ONE FINAL NOTE: R.I.P. Sir Bobby Robson, one of the greatest figures in English/World Soccer, after a long bout with cancer. He was 76 years old.

Check out our weekend happenings on our website and if you're around this weekend, make sure to stop by and say hi. Chances are pretty good that you'll find me around.

Enjoy the weekend!
