DOG DAYS OF SUMMER...
We're now halfway through July and we are definitely in the stretch of the season affectionately known as "The Dog Days of Summer", where there's nothing much going on but hot, humid days. Aside from baseball, sports programming is at a minimum. If you aren't enjoying life in a share house, you find yourself wandering the streets of New York in search of cheap entertainment or simply staying put in your air-conditioned apartment. To say it's boring is an understatement, but then again, that's why they call it "The Dog Days of Summer"...
With that being said, I worked both Friday and Saturday nights and while both nights weren't gangbusters by the way of foot traffic, it did bring about some interesting characters. Lot of tourists. Lot of bachelor parties (i.e. lot of meatheads). Lot of amateur drunks. The usual suspects but still makes for interesting observation. I wish I had more for you but sometimes you get a dry weekend. It happens. Hopefully we'll get a good story or two tonight.
Speaking of tonight we have in store another edition of BEER BINGO MONDAY, featuring a twist on the classic game. It's free to play and there's fun prizes to be won. The fun starts at 8pm and it's hosted by JUNIOR, the Beer Bingo Guru.
And don't forget we offer $1 mugs of Bud/Bud Light/Coors Light OR $2 mugs of Blue Moon, Brooklyn Pennant Ale, Sam Adams, Sam Summer Ale or Sixpoint Sweet Action, AND $3 SoCo Lime shots from 4pm to close. See you tonight!

Check your phrases, but these are not the "Dog days of Summer". The Dog days are late August through September.
This is the middle of summer and a GREAT time, not boring. everyone I know is doing something every weekend...Tits!
Dog Days come from an old tale that dogs were more likely to be rabid at teh end of the summer. And this isn't the END of Summer. Dog days are when kids want to go back to school because they're bored, but they just got out a month ago. No one's bored yet, and the fact that you're getting up there in age, don't project on the rest of us having fun this summer.
Just sayin'....
Well in my business, it IS the dog days of summer because everyone like you are out and about traveling and enjoying life ELSEWHERE where as the local businesses are slower this time of year. And it wouldn't matter how old I was for this to happen, young fella!
When the Brewers don't play I really don't know what to do with myself (besides pulling up redtube.com but that only lasts a couple minutes before I'm sweaty and out of breath).
