SOME QUICKIES FROM FRIDAY....

Just wanted to throw in some highlights from Friday night. I wasn't in the best of moods so I kept a low-key profile for most of the evening. That being said, I was able to do more observing than usual. Here are some things of note:

*Got a visit from the newly engaged ANGRY BLACK and his beautiful fiancee, MEG. They were glowing with happiness as well-wishers stopped by to check them out (and the ring). They are a great couple and I am truly happy for them.

*Our former Tuesday night tandem of HIS BOY ELROY and P-DIDDY were also some of the folks who stopped by to say hi to the Angry One. HIS BOY ELROY and his lovely wife are expecting their first child in a matter of weeks, while P-DIDDY recently got engaged himself. Am I sensing a trend here?

*Speaking of weddings and engagements, there was a group from Virginia who stopped by the bar last night after attending a wedding.... at City Hall! Apparently two members of the group chose to come up to NYC to get married at City Hall and then spend the weekend in the Big Apple with their friends to celebrate. Somewhat unconventional but whatever. They were a happy bunch so that's what matters, right?

*Then.... there was the poor guy who spent most of the night at the bar alone and down in the dumps. Apparently he proposed to his girlfriend earlier in the evening on a beach in Long Island. Instead of getting the "YES!" answer he was hoping for, she began blurting out all of these "indiscretions" that she'd done during the time they were dating. Ouch. It's safe to say that that wedding proposal didn't go over very well.

*Of course, what would Third and Long be without hookups? If it wasn't JON CUSACK putting in major time with some chick that he lovingly classified as "mental and difficult", it was some other random couple who met hours earlier and deciding to "seal the deal" in the men's room. Imagine my shock and awe when our barback came up from the men's room wearing plastic gloves and some girl's thong dangling off of his fingertips at the end of the night.

That pretty much summed up the theme of the night. As I said before, I wasn't in the best of moods so I kept to myself for much of the night, but it at least allowed me to catch some priceless moments!


KICK the KEG SATURDAY in effect as we speak (12pm-8pm) with $2 mugs, ALL BEERS ON TAP*, followed by "SUDSY SATURDAYS" (8pm-11pm) featuring $4 "Bombers" (20oz) of Bud/Bud Light or Coors Light!


It's hot outside and I'm going to try and salvage what's left of my weekend. Hope you enjoy yours!
